Our mission

Our mission is to provide a safe, confidential, and compassionate haven for women and children escaping domestic violence.
We empower survivors by offering emergency shelter, emotional support, life‑skills development, and pathways to long‑term stability.

At Hope Base Camp, we believe every survivor deserves:

  • Safety — a place free from fear and danger
  • Support — guidance, advocacy, and a community that cares
  • Healing — resources that nurture emotional and physical recovery
  • Hope — the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity

Through trauma‑informed care, family‑centered services, and unwavering compassion, we help survivors reclaim their independence, restore their confidence, and create brighter futures for themselves and their children.

Hope begins here — and every new beginning matters.

We Provide Immediate Safety

Safety comes first.
We offer secure, confidential shelter where families can escape abuse and begin healing in a protected environment—free from fear, threats, or instability.

We Empower Survivors with Support

Survivors receive compassionate, trauma‑informed care, including:

  • Crisis support
  • Emotional encouragement
  • Case management
  • Safety planning
  • Goal setting

Our team ensures no one has to walk their healing journey alone.

We Support Children’s Healing

Domestic violence affects children deeply.
We create a nurturing space where kids can:

  • Feel safe
  • Receive emotional support
  • Regain stability and routine
  • Begin healing alongside their parent

A safe child is a hopeful child.

We Build Skills for Independence

We help survivors regain control of their futures by offering:

  • Life‑skills training
  • Financial literacy education
  • Job‑readiness support
  • Parenting classes
  • Housing navigation

Our goal is long‑term empowerment, not temporary relief.

We Restore Dignity and Confidence

Every survivor deserves respect and compassion.
We honor each woman’s story, celebrate her strength, and help her rebuild confidence—step by step, at her own pace.

We Create Pathways to Long‑Term Stability

We connect families with:

  • Permanent housing resources
  • Therapy and counseling referrals

  • Crimes involving violence and threats (aggravated assault, rape, etc.) are among those recorded. Beautify Data+1

  • Although overall violent‑crime rates fluctuate, there remains a tangible risk of violence within the community. City-Data+2Beautify Data+2

  • People seeking to escape domestic violence or other dangerous situations may face housing instability, lack of safe alternatives, or risk of homelessness in absence of supportive resources.

In short: Manteca — like many communities — has real incidents of violence, and there is a meaningful need for safe, supportive resources for individuals and families in crisis.

Our story

Hope Base Camp was created from a simple belief:
every woman and child deserves a safe place to breathe, heal, and rebuild their life.

For years, our founders witnessed the silent suffering of women and children facing domestic violence — families with nowhere safe to go, nowhere to turn, and no place to begin again. Too often, survivors are forced to choose between staying in danger or entering homelessness. We believed there had to be another option.

Hope Base Camp was born from that belief.

What started as a vision—a sanctuary where safety comes first, healing is supported, and dignity is restored—has grown into a haven for survivors seeking stability and renewal. Our shelter provides more than a bed. It offers compassion, structure, understanding, and a community of people who truly care.

At Hope Base Camp, we focus on more than escaping violence.
We focus on rebuilding lives.

Every woman who walks through our doors brings strength, courage, and resilience. We simply provide the tools, support, and stability needed for her to rise again — safely and confidently. From crisis response and shelter to life-skills coaching, therapy referrals, safety planning, and long-term goal setting, our mission is to empower every survivor to reclaim her own future.

What makes Hope Base Camp different is our heart.
We see survivors as whole, capable people — not victims. We meet families where they are, stand beside them, and walk with them step‑by‑step toward independence, peace, and hope.

Today, Hope Base Camp continues to grow as a trusted safe haven where mothers and children can rediscover stability, rebuild confidence, and begin a new chapter free from fear.

Hope begins here. Healing grows here. Your future is safe here.
Welcome to Hope Base Camp — where your next chapter starts with safety, support, and love.

“You are not what happened to you.
You are who you choose to become, and we are here to support every step of that journey.”
